The ethnographic cemetery of NidaThe uniquely shaped wooden tomb monuments (Lith. krikštai), typical on the Curonian Spit, have remained in the Nida ethnographic cemetery, dating back to the 19th-20th century. Horse heads, plant and bird symbols used to be carved for the deceased men, while the female tomb monuments usually had birds, plants and hearts. In 1975, the tomb monuments in the Nida cemetery were restored by the artist Eduardas Jonušas, who is now also buried here.
