Peacock Island in southwest Berlin is one of the most popular tourist destinations.
The island is a nature reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The island, approximately one and a half kilometers long and half a kilometer wide, has retained its fairytale character over the centuries and today invites you to take long walks. The island in southwest Berlin takes its name from a special feature: free-roaming peacocks that occasionally do cartwheels for visitors. In addition to the peacocks, several water buffalo also live on the island, which act as natural lawnmowers.
