One of the most beautiful riverside paths in Potsdam runs along the Griebnitzsee at the foot of the Neubabelsberg villa colony. The former border strip stretches from Babelsberg Park to the (West) Berlin city limits in Stubenrauchstrasse. The character of the design and the legal status are still being debated. Some areas of the trail are currently closed to public use by residents until further notice. And it will probably stay that way.

the riverside path on the Berlin side is recommended in every season. Unfortunately, the Uferweg on the Potsdam side is partially inaccessible.

The approximately three kilometers long Griebnitzsee extends in an L-shape south of the Havel. At the time of the GDR, it represented a part of the wall, because here ran the border between West Berlin and Brandenburg.
