The village church in Volgfelde is a significant historical building. Originally built in the 13th century as a late Romanesque fieldstone structure, it features a square west tower. Between 1734 and 1737, and again in 1880, the church underwent extensive renovations, which shaped its present appearance. The organ dates from 1881.
The Protestant parish of Volgfelde formerly belonged to the Staats parish near Vinzelberg and is now served by the Lindstedt parish in the Salzwedel church district. The oldest surviving church records date from 1655.
