In weather like this, there are some advantages to setting off with rain pants and jacket on. If it starts to rain, all you have to do is put on your hood. That was the case on today's tour shortly before Hasbergen.
From there it wasn't far to Heidkruger Bäke.

Today's tour was rich in birds (cranes, ducks, geese, seagulls), in soggy field paths (mainly around the Buchholzer Moor) and in purchases (juice and jam in Fischerhude, chicken soup and sausage in a jar at the farm shop "Auf der alten Weide ").

The first photo on the tour was only taken because I had to quickly put on a rain jacket.
We continued through the Hansalinie industrial park and over the Achim dry sandy grassland to Embsen (with half a roll and warm tea; I got a bit very wet).
I had actually planned to go to the Fischerhuder Wümme lowlands…

This tour had its ups and downs. The town hall, the old inland harbor and the promenade were worth seeing. The path to the outer harbor, on the other hand, was very long and monotonous.
The outer harbor itself is worth seeing again. I only took the picture of the "Borkum" ferry because the loudspeaker…

We had to take advantage of this rain-free period lasting several hours today. So we boarded the NWB to Twistringen with our bike.
I had previously put together most of the route back to Bremen using Komoot. Komoot classified the route as “difficult” and in some cases it was. But it was more due to some…

It was actually supposed to be a slightly longer bike ride today. But as soon as I set off the rain started and didn't want to stop.
Or so I thought.
And when I decided to stop the tour and slowly drive back along a few unknown paths, the rain stopped.
Time in motion: one hour 35 minutes

First of all, the positive thing about today's tour: I liked it. I've always wanted to drive from Oldenburg to Elsfleth on the left side of the Hunte. The route suited my taste (except for the section on the K213 (Nordermoorer Hellmer) without a cycle path).
The negative has nothing to do with the tour…

I recently saw a tour on Komoot called “To the Center of Lower Saxony” and it initially led from Bremen to Bruchhausen-Vilsen.
That's what I oriented myself on.
We continued through the Dillertal (why this name? The stream in the valley is the Oberer Eiter) and through the forest near Heiligenberg.
Not…

This time the tour started on the small railway hiking trail from Bad Zwischenahn to Edewechterdamm.
Instead of continuing on the road south of the coastal canal to Jeddeloh II, I should have looked for a route up the Vehnemoor.
Well, at least I visited the Benthullen Moor afterwards.
The return trip to…

Just set off today without setting a specific destination beforehand. You could also say that the goal today is to have no destination and to only decide at the last moment whether to go left, right or straight ahead.
Although my sense of adventure was very limited today, especially after I got cold feet…
