The park covers over 130 hectares, with more than 19,000 tree species. It's an idyllic spot for birdwatching, and in addition to the more common birds, you can spot gray herons and little egrets. This land was first purchased by Alessandro I de' Medici and later expanded by Cosimo I.

The park was already created in the 16th century under Cosimo I de Medici. It stretches along the Arno River to the historic center of Florence.

Firenze is one of the most beautiful Renaissance cities of Italy, it's surrounded by hills with gorgeous little towns and old Villa;this gravel route will bring you to discover some of them. Starting from Piazza Duomo, the heart of the city, following the Parco delle Cascine and the gravel tracks of Renai you will get to Signa. The climb begins there and crossed Comeana there is a steep section which will bring you up to Artimino. The view of a Medici's Villa and the old town will be a great reward for your achievement. Then, after a short downhill, a gravel road uphill ( with some technical stretches ) will bring you to the hilltop, crossway of many trails. Going down along a beautiful gravel road, surrounded by vineyards, you'll reach the town of Montelupo Fiorentino ( watch out a steep downhill in town). From there a mix of gravel sections, bike paths and secondary road will bring you back to Florence.
