    Tips

    Cycling

This is a wonderful place to wild swim. A path brings you to a group of stones that emerge from the young Derwent River to create small waterfalls and a plunge pool.

In summer, the river valley is flanked by swathes of purple heather and grazing sheep.

    Hiking

Slippery Stones sounds like a warning (and perhaps it is!) but this is the official name for this lovely, picturesque plunge pool / wild swimming spot.

The bridge was moved, block by block to its current position prior to the construction of the reservoirs.
