There are no references to the builder or the history of this church. As is so often the case in the Irish countryside: you suddenly come across the picturesque remains of times long past. They belong to Ireland like the unmistakable nature. They are inextricably linked to the land and are accessible to everyone. History that you can experience up close. A visitor center doesn't always have to be there. Sometimes it is just like at Temple Cronan, this building from probably the 12th century: You can pause here in connection with the history, take a break, linger there and enjoy the atmosphere.

Temple Cronan's history dates back to the 12th Century when the Church of Saint Cronan was founded. The complex consists of a church, a cemetery and a cross stone. The church itself is a stunning example of medieval architecture and offers insight into the life and spirituality of the Burren people through the ages.
