The mining field Aurora was concessioned in 1858 to Friedrich Roessler from Koblenz. But as this did not record any mining activity, the mine Aurora went to a public company in East Frisia, which began in 1884 with the mining industry. In 1896 the pit was sold with a 350 meter deep shaft and shut down in 1900.
