Update 2022: Unfortunately, the idyll is over because a 40-meter-high and 350-meter-long concrete bridge is being built into the valley for €20 million.
Rhaunen Valley Bridge: 8,450 m³ of concrete, 880 tons of reinforcing steel, and 200 tons of prestressing steel.
Update 2025: The bridge was scheduled for completion in 2025, but this has since been revised to 2026. The road connection, the so-called Hunsrück Spange*, is still in the planning stage...
*) A through-traffic-free and long-distance connection between the Nahe region (B41) and the Hunsrück region (B50/B327)
