The Rhine is already 10 km upstream already split into Waal (2/3) and Pannerdensch Kanaal (1/3). Here the Pannerdens Canal (actually Lower Rhine) is split again. 2/3 continues as the Nederrijn to Arnhem and 1/3 as IJssel in a northerly direction. There are a few picnic benches on this spot (see photo). In the floodplain lies an important concrete structure with mountable panels to regulate high water. (no picture)
