The bog has its charms in every season and is worth a visit.

A very nice circular tour from the Grenzweg car park. Autumn was in all its glory. Depending on your fitness, you can also extend the path ... Attention, in part, the wooden walkways were wet and slippery

Especially now in autumn, the moor with the many grasses showed its best side. The colors were gorgeous, the jetties at times slippery. Watching it is always in the Venn, really clear

The Brackvenn is part of the raised bog between Monschau and Eupen.
There are mostly easy-to-walk trails here. The bridges are sometimes very narrow and they can be very slippery when wet and ice.
The paths should not be left for your own safety and nature conservation!

If you walk through the raised bog with your eyes open and take your time, you will notice constant changes in the terrain that affect vegetation and plants.

A hike in the High Fens is recommended in every season. It is amazing how the unspoilt landscape changes its appearance with the course of the seasons.

Nice walk on wooden walkways through the Brackvenn; the bridges are sometimes quite narrow and can be smooth and slippery when wet. In a few places the bridges are not in a particularly good condition.
The bog must not be entered when it is dry (red flag). On hot summer days it is better to start early in the morning or in the evening and do not forget about sun protection.
Many dragonflies can be seen near water pools.

Warning, dogs are not allowed on the footbridges and in many areas in the bog. If I still find an old photo of an information board with the marked areas, I will add it afterwards.
Otherwise I can definitely recommend the moor, very nice.

This moorland area is very impressive, but there are also many stinging animals on the way.

Ideal evening walk; few people, silence except birdsong.
On and around the one and only sand pond Beverspores and at the beginning of July parents with young of the Little Dodaars (D = Zwergtaucher) are busy.
Along the beam path sometimes a darting Lizard and even 1 that remained stiff.
No sign of game (Deer or Roe).
And at this time of year no Mosquitoes or Bremsen.

Interesting how this area came to be. How peat has shaped the landscape and how people now want to restore the original state

A remarkable site in terms of flora and above all very fragile.
