The property is located outside the old town center in the immediate vicinity of an arm of Stepenitz. The plot and building have an exposed location and importance. The Masonic lodge "Zur Perle am Berge" had the building built between 1908 and 1909 by the Perleberg contractor Max Viereck.

In 1933 the lodge lost the property through expropriation.

After 1945 it served as the House of German-Soviet Friendship and later as a youth club house. Today the property, which was returned to the Johannisloge, is a home for clubs and young people as a leisure center (Effi).
