Best Road Cycling Rides to Gorges de la Nesque Road

Tips

  • The Nesque River gives its name to the canyon, through which runs the road that no Ventoux conqueror is allowed to miss. The view is terrific!

  • The Gorges de la Nesque are highly recommended, especially in the eastern section of this canyon is absolutely impressive and it can quite with the Gorges du Verdon record. The road is in places spectacularly built into the rock face and leads through some short tunnels, which, however, are completely unproblematic even without light. Driving to Mont Ventoux via Sault is an absolute dream and much less traveled than the climb directly from Bedoin.
The slope is very moderate and so you can enjoy the way uphill properly, downhill it rolls for it not everywhere by itself as fast as that is part of a road bike.

  • In my opinion the most beautiful route in the area. A must for every racing cyclist and everyone else. Little traffic, the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful and the asphalt is absolutely clean. Please do not drive there by car, so that it remains as beautiful as it is.
