Easily accessible hut with great panorama, thanks to cable car and many well-marked trails is something for every condition. We prefer to climb over the quiet Längental and then take the cable car.

The Brauneck Gipfelhaus is a DAV hut where you can sleep well too. Guests praise especially the humorous and friendly hut team, as well as the delicious food. You can find all information here: brauneckgipfelhaus.de

Good food, which is even better, if you did not lift up, but has taken the path. 😉

A small climb from the Brauneck summit house and you have a fantastic panorama of the Alpine foothills including Lake Starnberg and Munich. From here also the paragliders start. You can sit comfortably on the terrace and watch the paragliding.

As the cable car ends here, of course, day tourists and excursionists overcrowded. The hut is more of a local ... Therefore: Quick lace up the mountain boots and explore the Brauneck. On the Kotalm and Co.'s much more comfortable.

We were yesterday, 22.8.2018, on the Strasser Alm. I must say, very friendly nice young ladies in the service and very good food, especially the Kaiserschmarren is a poem! Also my beef broth with noodles and Tafelspitzfleisch was delicious.

The ascent and descent by cable car is not cheap (20 € per person), but it's worth it, if you want to go the beautiful, albeit challenging big Braunecker Höhenweg. Take a break for 4 hours and enjoy this wonderful mountain world. The Strasseralmhütte I recommend for a snack. Sure-footedness is required, a head for heights would not be bad, since a short rise in between, however, is somewhat exposed.
