In 1898 the Berlin State Insurance Institute laid the foundation stone for a lung sanatorium on the outskirts of Berlin.
Within 30 years, architects and master builders created an ensemble on an area of approx. 200 hectares that has found and is recognized far beyond the borders of Germany.
