The pavilion was the first bed house for women with lung diseases. The floor plan was designed in such a way that all facilities, such as toilets, washrooms and bathrooms, the examination rooms and the dining room could be reached according to the "principle of short distances". The wards were on the opposite south side of the building, so that the patients had maximum sun and an unobstructed view of the park.
