The village church 'St. Johannes' Hohenselchow is located between the streets Nebenstraße, Petershagener Str. And Casekower Straße.

The oldest document about the church dates from 1259. Barnim I mentioned in this document the pastor Roleco at the church in Hohenselchow. The church bears her name after John the Baptist. A peculiarity of the church is the tower hall by its overhanging of unhardened boulders. On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the church in 1959, the tower hall was designed as a memorial hall for the fallen of the world wars. In 1945 the altar, pulpit, organ, brass crown and stalls were destroyed. The top of the tower was badly damaged and could not be saved. Until 1959, the church was rebuilt under the very difficult conditions of the time. Significant responsibility was the then pastor Fritz King. The sculptures in the sanctuary belonged to the ruined altar. As well as the baptismal font, they were created by the Stettin master Rosenberg in 1710. 1989 - 1990 had to be renewed because of danger of collapse, the entire beam ceiling in the nave. At the same time, the new covering of the roof took place. The tower, reconstructed from October 1996 to October 1997, was originally built in 1687.
