It stands on the site of the neo-Gothic village church, consecrated in 1906. After the expulsion of the German population, the church was used as a stable before being eventually demolished.
The chapel also stands as a symbol of the good relations between the people living on the border between Bavaria and Bohemia.

Mountain biking
The church was built from 1904 to 1906. After 1945, the Marienkirche was robbed and used for a short time as a storage room. Then it was demolished with the rest of the buildings.
