The courtyard garden is definitely worth a visit. The numerous seating areas invite you to linger. If you are lucky, a few people play music in the Diana Temple. Boccia players can be seen on the back of the Tambosi. It is only a short walk from the courtyard garden to the financial garden with its old trees. And from there you can get to the English Garden via the Prince Karl Palais.

  • Directly behind Odeonsplatz, the courtyard garden belonging to the residence invites you to relax with its majestic flair. The Hofgarten is the garden of the Residenz, the city palace of the former Bavarian kings and princes. The courtyard garden was created with the expansion of the residence at the beginning of the 17th century under Duke Maximilian I based on the model of Italian Renaissance gardens.

  • The courtyard garden itself exudes a lot of calm, even if it is often full. The courtyard garden is surrounded by very beautiful buildings worth seeing, e.g. the residence

  • The design of the court garden goes back to Duke Maximilian I and was created in 1613/17. The garden is one of the most important princely Renaissance gardens north of the Alps and is modeled on the Italian gardens of the time. In 1780 the courtyard garden was also opened to the public. After the war damage in 1940, the garden was re-laid in 1950.

  • Architecturally very, very beautiful, in the early hours of the morning the sun rises behind the State Chancellery, a fantastic sight! Besides, there is very little going on.

  • It is worth discovering the Hofgarten for yourself. The Roman arcades with the pumping station underneath as an example. Or change from there to Park "the artist". It is the southernmost part of the English Garden.
