The courtyard garden is definitely worth a visit. The numerous seating areas invite you to linger. If you are lucky, a few people play music in the Diana Temple. Boccia players can be seen on the back of the Tambosi. It is only a short walk from the courtyard garden to the financial garden with its old trees. And from there you can get to the English Garden via the Prince Karl Palais.

Directly behind Odeonsplatz, the courtyard garden belonging to the residence invites you to relax with its majestic flair. The Hofgarten is the garden of the Residenz, the city palace of the former Bavarian kings and princes. The courtyard garden was created with the expansion of the residence at the beginning of the 17th century under Duke Maximilian I based on the model of Italian Renaissance gardens.

The Hofgarten in the heart of Munich city center is always worth a visit. Who from the Leopoldstr. Coming In the courtyard garden is on the left a beautiful beer garden. Right is the Herkulessaal and at the end in the eastern part of the garden, the Bavarian State Chancellery at the beginning of the 90s from the ruins of the former Bavarian Army Museum was created. In the middle of the beautiful park is a small pavilion in which the evening is also danced. For strolling also invites the northern part with numerous shops.

The design of the court garden goes back to Duke Maximilian I and was created in 1613/17. The garden is one of the most important princely Renaissance gardens north of the Alps and is modeled on the Italian gardens of the time. In 1780 the courtyard garden was also opened to the public. After the war damage in 1940, the garden was re-laid in 1950.
