As Timber has already written, these are the remains of a former granite grinding shop and a later excursion restaurant. My family ran it in the 1990s. The openings / entrances simply represent the entrances to the rock cellars (due to the constant low temperatures, on average between 8-12 °, these were previously primarily used to store beer and agricultural products). The entrances are therefore higher because there were terraces in front of them.
You can find numerous photos on the Internet under the search term "Restauration Gsteinach".

Past bizarre rock formations we reach a larger open area with the remains of a former granite work. On the site was also a restaurant, which was demolished in 2006. Since demolition, there have been multiple plans to use the land for residential development. In March 2014, the building permit expired and is no longer extended by the district office. It is now planned to renaturate the area

Some remains of the wall and cellars driven into the rock are still reminiscent of the excursion restaurant, which was finally demolished in 2006.
