The eastern entry near Becklem is the temporary end of the König-Ludwig-Trasse, which leads from the Rhine-Herne Canal to Suderwich and Becklem and is later to be continued to Oer-Erkenschwick. Cycling

On the König-Ludwig-Trasse, coal and coke were transported from the collieries to be loaded onto barges. The route was also used to transport people between different parts of the colliery.

The first sections of the KLT were built in 1885. In 1965 the colliery was shut down. Shafts were still being transported away via the KLT. Since 2008, sections of the route have been set up as footpaths and cycle paths.
