The ruin is always freely accessible. A staircase leads to the preserved part of the shield wall, from where there is a beautiful view over the surrounding forest and the Neckar valley. If it is a bit shady down in the castle, you may have a sunny spot for a little rest up here.
In the bailey there is also a flowing wooden well and a large barbecue area with unfortunately a bit sparse seating. But surely everyone will find a place on the walls and stairs all around. Especially since the ruin does not seem overly crowded.

Stolzeneck Castle is the ruin of a hilltop castle above the Meckar near Eberbach in Baden Württemberg. The castle, built around 1200, was given to servants of the Count Palatinate from 1284 as a Lurpfalz fief. After 1610 the castle and the associated castle hamlet Krösselbach were given up.
Beautifully located and easy to reach on foot or by bike.
