Shortly before the entrance to the Breitachklamm stands the small chapel in honor of the pastor Johannes Schiebel, who created the path in 1905 in the gorge and made it accessible.

The small chapel reminds (in addition to its importance as a place of worship) with a small sign to Pastor Johannes Schiebel, the developer of the Breitachklamm. From de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breitachklamm
At the end of the 19th century there were unsuccessful attempts to make the Breitachklamm accessible.
The young Tiefenbacher pastor Johannes Schiebel finally took the development of the gorge in his hands, sought sponsors and founded the Breitachklammverein eG. He did this in order to provide his poor community with a source of income and to stimulate the beginning of Alpine tourism.
The first blast was carried out on July 25, 1904, on July 4, 1905, the walk-in Breitachklamm was inaugurated.

If you drive from Tiefenbach / Weidach towards Breitachklamm, you will find this small chapel just after the turnoff to Sesselalpe and after the bridge over the Starzlach on the footpath to Sesselalpe. A few meters further on is the large parking lot of Breitachklamm. It was built in 1930 by Breitachklammverein on the site of an old dilapidated shrine in honor of the water and sanctuary of St. Christopher and inaugurated in 1931 by pastor Johann Schiebel. In its design were mainly local artists such as Brutscher, Matt, Dünser u.a. involved.

Small chapel directly on the street at the entrance to the Breitachklamm car park.
    Is not always open-minded, unfortunately.

Small chapel at the end of the Breitachklamm circular route.
With a little luck, she is sometimes open-minded.
