The Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal was a 172.4 km long waterway between the Danube at Kelheim and the Main at Bamberg in the 19th and 20th centuries. In a broader sense, the canal, built between 1836 and 1846, was part of a navigable connection between the North Sea near Rotterdam and the Black Sea at Constanţa.
