FISCHOTTER - DAHEIM AT BACH AND RIVER
In Germany, the otter (Lutra lutra) must be counted among the endangered species. Its distribution center is located in the eastern federal states. In the western federal states, on the other hand, only smaller remainders exist in Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Bavaria. The Bavarian otter population is - with the exception of a few individual animals - limited to the Bavarian Forest.Since 1988, the species assistance program Fischotter has been implemented in the Bavarian Forest. The project was supported until 1995 by a working group consisting of representatives of the Bavarian State Office for Nature Conservation, the Government of Lower Bavaria, the Bavarian Forest Nature Park e.V. and the consortium of Fischotterschutz.deutschewildtierstiftung.de/wildtiere/fischotter
