The Pünte is the last hand-pulled wagon ferry in all of Europe. The Jümme is a tide-dependent body of water and there are breaks in operation. You should therefore call the ferry people on 0151 62 427171 beforehand to find out how the tide is and whether you can translate.

The Jümme-Pünte is next to the port in Barßel, the Stickhausen bathing lake and Stickhausen Castle THE highlight along the Jümme. Every weekend from spring to autumn, the pünten leaders of the pünten association pull thousands of guests along with bikes and cars across the Jümme for a symbolic prize. It's great fun for all guests.
Translation now costs €2 per person. :-)
The ferry operates in spring and summer and does not operate at low tide. It is therefore worthwhile to find out about the tide times on the Internet before you set off.

And here you find the information, when is pulled:
The driving times of Pünte always begin from the 01. May and end on 30 September. And that's why on the 1st of May, when the season opens, it's time again to say "ferryman hol over!"
Ferry times: Wednesday - Friday 10.00 - 17.45, Saturday and Sunday 10.00 - 17.45.

And there is even a club that can contribute something to that:
