The Uettelsheimer See is a lake in the Homberg district of Duisburg and forms a local recreation area. In the south it borders on the Homberg Park Cemetery and in the northeast on the Hornitex chipboard factory.
Gravel excavation created a water area of 23 hectares, the surrounding area (97 hectares) of which was expanded from 1969 to 1992. The shorelines were prepared, paths and a park landscape were created and retreat areas were created for flora and fauna.
There are 7.5 km of hiking trails in the immediate vicinity of the lake, including a 3.5 km long circular path, some of which is close to the shore. There is a water playground on the southwest bank. The lake is a fishing spot, but there are no swimming opportunities and should be avoided.
The Uettelsheimer See is fed by groundwater and changes its water level with the level of the Rhine, which is approx. 1 km away.
