The Uettelsheimer See is a lake in the Duisburg district of Homberg and forms a local recreation area. In the south it borders on the Homberger Parkfriedhof, in the northeast on the chipboard factory Hornitex.
Gravel excavation created a water surface of 23 ha, the area (97 ha) of which was expanded from 1969 to 1992. The shorelines were prepared, paths and a park landscape created, and retreats for flora and fauna created.
There are 7.5 km of hiking trails in the immediate vicinity of the lake, including a 3.5 km long, partly near-by circular path. There is a water playground on the southwestern shore. The lake is a fishing spot, but bathing opportunities are not available and should also be avoided.
The Uettelsheimer See is fed by groundwater and changes its water level with the level of the Rhine, which is approx. 1 km away.
