      At 65 m above the valley floor, the Gasparin Temple offers a unique view of the Upper Castle and Greiz's old town. The temple was built around 1822 on what was then Alexandrinenberg on the occasion of the marriage of Prince Heinrich XIX. Reuss Aelterer Linie (1790-1836) built with Princess Gasparine von Rohan-Rochefort and Montauban (1799-1871). Restorations, redesigns and renovations ensured the temple's preservation in the years that followed. In preparation for the “Greizer Heimatfest” in 1934, a general overhaul was inevitable. The temple's wooden pillars were replaced by eight Tuscan granite pillars. The classical building, with a height of 8 m and a diameter of approx. 6 m, shows itself in an open construction method. The Gasparinentempel is on the route of the Greizer circular hiking trail (stage 3: Silberloch-Dölau) and is a special vantage point.
