Best Hikes to Fallen Tree at Weddeler Teich

Tips

  • The approximately 20 hectare nature reserve "Weddeler Teich" is located south of Weddel in the Weddeler Graben lowlands. The "Weddeler Teich" is a relatively shallow, eutrophic and increasingly silted reservoir, which was used for centuries as a carp pond. The open water surface is enclosed by extensive reeds and cattail reeds, which are excellent breeding and resting areas for many bird species.

  • Weddler pond nature reserve. A unique biotope around here and one should behave accordingly and respect the area as such.

  • A narrow, sometimes narrow path leads along the pond. Depending on the weather conditions, the ground can be muddy. It's just left in its natural state and not too paved, that's a good thing!
