In the choir, a gravestone commemorates Countess Katharina von Schwarzburg, who confronted Duke Alba in the Schmalkaldic War (1547) with her famous saying “Princely blood for ox blood” and went down in history as “Catherine the Heroic”.
In the church there is a princely crypt, which consists of two rooms and has been in use since 1605. Here lie several coffins of the princes of Schwarzburg-
