The fountain, which is also called Ehekarusell, is one of the most important modern works of art in the city and is located in the center right next to the white tower.
In six larger-than-life groups of figures, it shows the various scenes from the ups and downs of married life - from the first passionate love to marital disputes to death.
The figures are really very impressive. A visit to the fountain is a must for visitors to Nuremberg's old town.

The monumental fountain at the White Tower in Nuremberg expressively depicts scenes of a marriage in six groups of figures - and Hans Sachs dances high on a kind of corn cob column ...
The fountain was designed by the Braunschweig artist Jürgen Weber (1928-2007). Weber refers to a poem by Hans Sachs, in which this describes the joy and sorrow of the marriage.
But let's let Jürgen Weber speak for himself:
"The poem by Hans Sachs is made up of double verses that praise and accuse marriage as well - the poem is so well-balanced, without any beginning or end, that I designed a carousel of six carriages that alternately represent both negative and positive scenes of marriage Three further information about the well and source:

Scenes from married life are depicted on this fountain, which covers a ventilation shaft of the subway. Really worth seeing.
