The Sellin Pier
The Wilhelmstraße gently rises to the 30-meter-high Baltic Sea cliff. Pretty villas in spa architecture line this magnificent street. Prince Wilhelm Malte zu Putbus had already laid it out in 1895, giving Sellin's development into a popular Baltic seaside resort a considerable boost. Because it eventually became too dangerous to bring ladies and gentlemen of high society ashore from the steamer, the first pier was built in 1906 as a landing stage.
