    St. Paul's Church (1905/07) – Darmstadt 🚴‍♂️

St. Paul's Church is a Protestant church in Darmstadt. It was built between 1905 and 1907 according to designs by the architect Friedrich Pützer. The church is located opposite the former Landeshypothekenbank, the current administrative headquarters of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau, on Paulusplatz. It is one of the most important preaching venues of the Evangelical Church of Hesse (EKHN), alongside St. Catherine's Church in Frankfurt am Main, the Market Church in Wiesbaden, and the Christ Church in Mainz. The church was severely damaged during the night of September 11-12, 1944, and its exterior was faithfully rebuilt after 1945. The building is designed in the style of Reformed architecture. The traditionalist style incorporates forms such as castle architecture, but also elements from Romanesque and Gothic church architecture. Eye-catching is the large relief in the gable above the church entrance and the figure of the Apostle Paul on the main pillar of the east side. St. Paul's Church has 1,100 seats and a 58-meter-high steeple.🚴‍♂️
