Schroederstollen Mine Entrance

The former 2.2 km long Schroeder tunnel has been renovated to the extent that guided tours are possible on the first few meters. At the former Groß Döhren station in front of the tunnel portal, a diverse collection of mine railway vehicles documents the development of track-based mining in underground mining.

Not with us - in 2006, a group of mining enthusiasts came together to uncover the buried entrance to the former main production tunnel of the Georg-Friedrich mine. This resulted in the working group Schroederstollen. The former 2.2 km long Schroeder tunnel has been renovated to such an extent that guided tours are possible for the first few meters. The Schroeder tunnel was intended to shorten the ore transport from the Georg-Friedrich iron ore mine near Dörnten to the Ilseder Hütte.
