Behind the name "the Three Brothers" are not three brothers, but three closely built historic houses in the Old Town of Riga. They have been called this for centuries, as legend has it they were built by three men from one family. Today, they are the oldest medieval residential buildings in Riga and house the Latvian Museum of Architecture and the State Inspection for the Protection of Monuments.

The Three Brothers (Latvian: Trīs brāļi) is a building ensemble in the Old Town of Riga. House 17 is the oldest secular stone building in the city area; it was built in the 15th century with features of Dutch Renaissance houses. The house may once have belonged to a master baker; a painted guild or family coat of arms with ears of grain was found under the plaster. The facade of House 19 was decorated with architectural sculptures in the Mannerist style, and House 21 received a Baroque gable.
