Crystal Lake lies between Three Island Lake and Burnt Ridge Lake. On the Hawk Ridge Trail, you reach the lake at its northern shore and follow the shoreline slightly elevated through the dense boreal forest and granite rocks – with obvious beaver activity. On the eastern shore of the lake, there is another backcountry campsite, as well as at Three Island Lake and Burnt Ridge Lake, with access to the lake.
Crystal Lake drains into the westward located Trapper Lake. The name Crystal Lake probably describes the quality of the water.
