The miner's monument in front of the town hall was created by the Pilsen sculptor Otokar Walter Sr. It commemorates the thirteen miners who were shot and killed in May 1890 during a strike near the Marta mine. The monument was unveiled in 1920 by the then Minister of Education Gustav Habrman. It was dismantled in 1938 and re-erected after restoration in 1956.
