Legends and myths have surrounded the Haubenberg for centuries. The most famous legend tells of a valuable treasure that a wealthy knight is said to have buried deep inside the mountain during the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War. When the knight did not return from battle, the hiding place was forgotten. Since then, treasure hunters have been trying to decipher the mysterious signs on the old oak trees.
