Hiking

The Diepentalsperre will no longer exist in its original form. It should become a natural hiking destination. The city council of Leichlingen has approved a renaturation. As a result, the dam is no longer a destination for boat trips. The area will remain as a local recreation area, but the Murbach is to flow again there and a varied, natural flora is to spread in addition to some still waters. The flora is already reclaiming the former body of water. The Wupperverband wants to ensure flood protection through retention areas.
