When you drive past this estate, it is quite impressive. In the past, the estate was much more meaningful: Many structures of today's Holzdorf municipality can be traced back to the formerly much larger Maasleben estate. The villages of Hümark, Söby, Holzdorf, Boesby and Thumby once belonged to the estate. Since 1871 the estate has belonged to the family of the current owner.

Maasleben was a episcopal fief, which can be proven at least since 1463. At that time it was called Curia. It developed into one of the largest estates in Schwansen, 1626 belonged to the villages Boesby, Holzdorf, Hümark, Söby and Thumby. The Stammhof, the present estate Maasleben, belongs since 1871 to the family of the present owner
