Gut Schiff has been documented as a mill location since the 16th century and was one of the powder mill locations in the Bergisches Land. Four powder mills were lined up along the street. At the end of the 1950s, the current iron-framed manor building was built alongside new powder mills.
Today the farm is maintained by the Eyberg family.
