The source does not run dry even in the driest years. Perhaps it served to supply the fortifications on the Nahekopf. Also conceivable is a sanctuary at a rest stop on the road that rests on very old foundations. Traces of settlements from the Celtic period were found nearby. The site awaits further archaeological investigations. Source: text information board
