We saw the tour Bahnhof & Viadukt Eiswoog - rails & tunnels at MB for the first time and were immediately thrilled 😍
So that the car trip (approx. 120km) is worthwhile after we have seen the hiking trail from the Nicolet (also after an idea from MB).
Many thanks to you for the inspiration 🤗😘
Here is the report:
Starting point Stumpfwaldbahn Eiswog in Ramsen.
Ramsen is the southernmost municipality in the Donnersberg district in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The Eistal Viaduct, sometimes called the Eiswoog Bridge, is a railway bridge on the Eiswoog, a small reservoir near Ramsen. The bridge led the single-track ice valley railway from 1932 to 1988.
The viaduct, technically a girder bridge, consists of a half-timbered structure supported by pillars, the upper edge of which is 36 meters above the stream and is the longest railway bridge in the Palatinate with a length of 271 meters.
Great feeling to walk on the tracks through the forest, through a tunnel (don't forget your flashlight!), To walk a bridge and to climb trees now and then whether above or below.
(also St. Maria im Rosenthal monastery) was one of the Cistercian abbeys dedicated to Our Lady. It is located in the Rodenbach valley and is now a very idyllic monastery ruin with pond and restaurant.
Cost entry, unfortunately we didn't have our mouthguards with us, otherwise we would be clean.
Ruined castle Stauf
There is not much left of the castle but you have a wonderful view of Ramsen.
There was also the Bockbach Valley Bridge, the
Ghost trail forest with sculptures, stump forest dish and much more.
We really liked the trail. A great day out.Saturday: 31.05.20
Because of great hunger, the description of the great tour will only come tomorrow during the day, have a nice evening 🙋 😃

The beaver path was in our queue for a long time and today it was finally time 🙂
Start and finish is the confluence with the school campus in Berschweiler.
Berschweiler is a district of Marpingen.
Marpingen is a municipality in the north of the Saarland. It is located in the southwest of the district of St. Wendel.
This premium hiking trail around Berschweiler has a lot to offer: notch valleys, forest paths and dirt roads with great views.
Even if the path is very varied, you should be in good shape because there are several vertical meters on the 19 kilometer route with several steep climbs.
We liked beaver path very much and would go the hiking path a second time.
The round can be shortened in some places, if you want to shorten it but we looked at everything 😃
We also hiked clockwise so we had the final images at the beginning 😃
Have a nice Saturday evening, enjoy the great weather with beer and snaps 🤗

A day of surprises.
Spontaneously thrown our planning overboard because we noticed that we hadn't been to Rimlingen in a long time.
Rimlingen is a district of the municipality of Losheim am See in the Merzig-Wadern district.
Start and finish is the village square in Rimlingen, at the church.
Right after the ascent at the beginning we noticed that the route was changed.
Since we know the old way and do not want to hike the forest-economic path, we decided to use the old one.
The new + old way meet again at the bunker. Then the route was known until after the ridge.
Shortly afterwards the signs wanted to take us somewhere else and we looked at that.
We got to see a pasture tunnel, a small waterfall and a source of limestone.
Full marks from us for this wonderful addition / change.
We have always liked the trail but now the additional highlights offer something great.
We will definitely hike the round again and join the new section at the beginning.
We wish you a wonderful Sunday and a great new week 🤗😘🍀

This afternoon the rain break used for a little walk.
Start / finish parking lot "Breitwies" (Roman pavilion) in Püttlingen.
There were burial mounds and the war cemetery Elm.
The path mainly goes through the forest. Suitable for everyone, Nordic walking, bikers, joggers.
At the moment we have the series because unfortunately this circular route is poorly signposted.
Since we still liked the way, we will definitely go there again.

Today's tour took us to Dagstuhl.
Dagstuhl is a district of the Saarland municipality of Wadern in the Merzig-Wadern district. We were able to take a look at Dagstuhl Castle and ruins as well as beautiful panoramic views. Conclusion for us:
Should we go the way again then definitely reschedule.
In retrospect, we think that the set tour history is not correct!
Especially since in Niederlösten we unfortunately followed the course of the tour, but did not follow the tour signs.
In Niederlöstern you have to go left and the Löster on the left to the Dagstuhl Castle.
If you follow the course of the tour, you have to fight your way through thick thickets / stinging nettle and moor, because these paths have not been walkable for 10 years.
We can only hope that the tour will soon be correct😦
The Wa2 signage was also missing in places ...

Start / finish is from B 51 in Menningen, direction Saarfels, through the railway underpass, directly behind is the parking lot. Menningen is the southernmost district of Merzig in the Saarland.
A beautiful and varied circular route high above the Saar valley in the Merziger Land.
It goes through forests, meadows and orchards with many beautiful views.
Unfortunately, the mill valley is not beautiful to look at through forest work at the moment .. think and hope that it will still be cleaned up.
Otherwise the trail is attractively designed (very well signposted) with many opportunities to take breaks.
We often hike the hiking trail, regardless of the season, to be there again and again!Wish you a nice Sunday and a great new week

⚠️⚠️Unfortunately my GPS went crazy today 😱
it was 12.6 km not 20.7 km⚠️⚠️
Today we kept our promise from November 2019 and hiked this wonderful circular route again.
Start and finish is the old city wall in the historic center of Freudenburg.
Freudenburg is a municipality in the district of Trier-Saarburg in Rhineland-Palatinate. It belongs to the Saarburg-Kell community.
The 12 kilometer long premium hiking trail is named after King John the Blind of Bohemia, Count of Luxembourg, who built a castle in Freudenburg in the 14th century.
A wonderful and very varied tour around Freudenburg with great viewpoints and panoramic views of Luxembourg and France.
Another highlight is the Leukbach Valley with several small "waterfalls".
In “Kollesleuker Schweiz”, colored sandstone cliffs tower with diverse shapes and colors. We particularly like the "Eiderberg", which is under nature protection and can currently enjoy very beautiful and rare orchids.
We found a geocache for the first time 🤗
Too bad we had nothing to write with .. but next time 😀Again we hiked the round the wrong way because I find it more pleasant from the slope. The path is well maintained, very well signposted with many places to rest. Would recommend the trail to everyone.Wish you a nice Saturday evening 🤗😘
