Naturschutzgebiet Wahner Heide

Around 700 endangered animal and plant species can be found in the Wahner Heide, the second largest nature reserve in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is also a bird sanctuary and flora-fauna habitat area.

Visible in every season. The heath offers a lot of variety.

The Wahner Heide is varied, which is why I really fell in love with it.

Beautiful nature, although not every corner is suitable for every cyclist.

The Wahner Heide is an absolute highlight in every season. Op by bike or on foot, if you move through the heather with open eyes and ears, you will get a lot of flora and fauna on offer.

Very beautiful pasture landscape for cycling.

Really nice area with lots of sandy, gravel or forest trails. Class for MTB and gravel bike.

A great combination of forests and open heathland. Animals (water buffalo, donkey, goat etc) and the proximity to the airport (you have to like it, of course) round off my fascination for this piece of earth! 😊
