One of the easiest ways to conquer the Jura from north to south is the Obere Hauenstein with a pass height of 734 meters. From both directions, climbing only very gently, you can easily get to the required height on a well-developed road. When driving north, be careful, especially when it is wet, the tram tracks, which repeatedly cross the street at acute angles from Waldenburg, are very dangerous.

In the north-south direction or vice versa, the pass is actually very easy to drive on (evil tongues would even say: boring). Since you share the road with a relatively large number of transit traffic.
In my opinion, the pass is particularly recommended because of the much more attractive west-east direction. The Chilchzimmersattel in the east and the Passwang in the west tempt you to combine them. If you are looking for something a little more unusual (and beautiful), you will find the Scheltenpass a little further to the west. This can also be wonderfully combined with a detour via the Brunnersberg. And as an alternative in the south-east, the transition via Bärenwil and the wonderfully mystical Tüüfelsschlucht down to the Mittelland.
Faced with so many great possibilities, it's almost impossible to stop combining - and with all the considerations, the Obere Hauenstein is the perfect focal point without any ambitions of your own.

Rises slightly for a long time, you can tell, but it's not over so quickly
