Alt Bechburg has been enthroned for 1,000 years on a rocky outcrop above the Augstbachtal. From the once proud facility, which was built around 1050 by the Lords of Bechburg, today only more wall remains are left. After the fire in 1713, the castle was not rebuilt. A beautiful hiking destination and a magnificent vantage point.

Old Bechburg, built in the 11th century by the Counts of Bechburg, is considered the ancestral seat of the counts and barons of Bechburg and Falkenstein. The coat of arms of Bechburg was divided three times in the colors black and white red. This also gave rise to today's municipal coat of arms.
