Nice start for a circular hike in the Eifgenbach valley. It is clear from the start how wildly idyllic this tour is. And the water ripples everywhere.

  • Such a beautiful spot! If it has rained a bit earlier, the paths on the edge are a bit difficult to walk, as you sometimes step into the water ...

  • We have often hiked along the Eifgenbach. The Altenberg circular hike to Rausmühle is also nice along the Eifgenbach, then via Dabringhausen to Maria in der Aue, Schöllerhof, Altenberg.

  • Beautifully located path along the Eifgen Bach! Very crowded on nice days, on rainy days it could be muddy and on the rocky surface it could be slippery! Still very nice 👍

  • A small hut as a resting place. A great way to find shelter in the rain.

  • The Eifgenbach is a 21km long tributary of the Dhünn. Its source is on Rattenberg (345m) east of Wermelskirchen. The Eifgenbach flows south of Wermelskirchen through a largely natural valley that forms the border over to Burscheid, and finally flows into Altenberg in the Dhünn.

  • The Eifgenbach rises at Rattenberg in Wermelskirchen and flows in a southwesterly direction. The Eifgenbach flows into the Dhünn near the Altenberg Cathedral in Odenthal.

  • It is a very nice path along the Eifgenbach. From the direction of Altenberger Märchenwald and Dom. For this path, however, sturdy shoes are very advantageous, as in rainy weather there are some slippery / muddy spots to pass that lead very close to the stream (sometimes less than a meter)

  • The entire hike along the stream is worthwhile here.

  • Nice bridges, if you stand in the middle of the bridge you can look out over the water.

  • "Anyone who wants to explore the Eifgenbach valley by hiking can do so on the Eifgenbachweg. The Eifgenbachweg is one of the Bergische Streifzügen and follows the Eifgenbach from Wermelskirchen to Odenthal as a 15 km long hike. You can enter the Eifgenbachweg e.g. at the Eifgenanlage in Wermelskirchen. This At the end of the 19th century, park and leisure facilities were the pride of the up-and-coming town of Wermelskirchen."
