Road Cycling Highlight
The Schelinger height requires from both directions, despite the rather clear height difference, one or the other Schweisstropfen, the rise of Bahlingen is still a bit more robust than that of Schelingen. The narrow county road is well paved and rather poorly traveled and makes itself as a mountain liner in each Kaiserstuhlrunde best.
The Schelinger Höhe is an east-facing entrance into the Kaiserstuhl from Eichstetten to Schelingen or Vogtsburg.
From "inside" (ie out of the Kaiserstuhl) the climb is not very long and only steep at the end. From "outside" a bit longer, but shady.
The Schellinger Höhe from Balingen is one of the high-percentage climbs in the Kaiserstuhl / Tuniberg area (next to Vogelsang Pass, Texas Pass, ...) which are worth to drive. The slope percentages are in the 2-digit range - but even, so it is good to drive when you have found his kick.
