Road Cycling Highlight
The Schelingerhöhe (officially Bahlingerhöhe) requires one or the other drop of sweat from both directions, despite the rather clear difference in altitude, whereby the ascent from Bahlingen is a little more robust than that from Schelingen. The narrow district road is well paved and not very busy and is ideal as a mountain location in every Kaiserstuhl tour.

The Schelingerhöhe is an east-side access to the Kaiserstuhl from Eichstetten to Schelingen or Vogtsburg.
From "inside" (i.e. from the Kaiserstuhl) the ascent is not particularly long and only steep at the end. From the "outside" a bit longer, but shady.

The Schellinger Höhe from Balingen is one of the high-percentage climbs in the Kaiserstuhl / Tuniberg area (next to Vogelsang Pass, Texas Pass, ...) which are worth to drive. The slope percentages are in the 2-digit range - but even, so it is good to drive when you have found his kick.

Comfortable ascent to Schelinger Höhe, in a quiet area, descent easy to master

Always nice when you're up - no matter from which direction.

One of the 4 passes that the Kaiserstuhl has ready for cyclists according to Quäldich.de.

A blatant increase, which already has a good 14% at the opening and is extremely steep uphill. From both sides. You can really give yourself a pat on the back at the top. DTL 2022 was long here too.
