The tower windmill in Rheurdt was built on the same site in 1880 as a successor to previous buildings that have existed since the 18th century. Abandoned to decay at the end of the 1920s, the first security measures began 30 years later. Renovated in two construction phases from 1984 to 1990 according to historical models, the wings have been in the closing position ever since. The gutted interior is used by the DLRG local group Rheurdt-Schaephuysen e.V. as a clubhouse.
